朝陽に照らされ、碧くきらめく雄大な風景。表現に込められた想いは、壮大なる文化を創造した先人への崇拝や賛美の気持ちにあふれている。
作者は、日本画家としての在り様を、自然と歴史へ畏敬の念をいだくことで追求していると言えるだろう。
小西通博は1955年（昭和30年）、京都府生まれ。1983年からは創画展創画会賞をたびたび受賞し、現在は創画会の理事を務める。
創画会は、1948年（昭和23年）に創造美術としてスタートし、常に新しい日本画を追求する芸術家団体。初め山本丘人、吉岡堅二、橋本明治ら東京の7人と、上村松篁、奥村厚一、向井久万ら京都の7人で結成、垣根を超えた自由で新しい創造の環境は今も受け継がれている。

The artist can be said to be pursuing the spectacle as a Japanese painter by showing awe for nature and history.
Michihiro Konishi was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1955. He has repeatedly won SOGA-kai Association of Japanese Painting Exhibition Awards since 1983. He is currently serving as the Director of the SOGA-kai Association of Japanese Painting.
The SOGA-kai Association of Japanese Painting started as creative art in 1948. It is an artist group that continually pursues new Japanese paintings. It was formed in the beginning by seven artists from Tokyo including Kyujin Yamamoto, Kenji Yoshioka and Meiji Hashimoto and seven artists from Kyoto including Shoko Uemura, Koichi Okumura and Kuma Mukai. The new creative environment with freedom that transcends barriers continues to be passed down to the present day.
