Takeshi Ishida, who became a Japanese painter at the age of 49, honed his skills by drawing ideal landscapes that Japanese painters used as the subject one after another as if to make up for that delay. He unaffectedly soaked up the job of being able to become a Japanese painter as he so yearned to be for many years.
There is no doubt that Mt. Fuji was also a subject that the artist had to paint. The number one mountain in Japan is a subject that cannot be avoided for painters as shown by the many pieces of Mt. Fuji in our collection.
Takeshi Ishida does not belong to any organizations and has not won any prizes of special mention other than the Yamatane Museum of Art Grand Award. He longed to become a Japanese painter and then he did so; that makes him stand out. That is the way it should be for a painter in a certain sense.
